Watch the 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet Replay - Presented by eBay & 1800 Tequila (2025)

All in world. Look at these shoes.

You see these shoes?

Every outfit is an argument.

Theme really encapsulates black history and the black male experience, not only in this

era, but in past generations. It just feels revolutionary, honestly.

Black history is American history, and I think we have a great access point in comes

to style because you can't deny it. That is black history.

I think this is the most important Met Gala that's ever been.

This is the night that everyone's going to pay attention to.

What's going to be a really beautiful room. I really think that it will echo for a long

time. After.

It's fashion's most anticipated night. The 2025 Met Gala is here, I'm.

And I'm Teyana Taylor. Tonight we'll be talking to some of the

biggest names in culture as they show up and show out to support Costume Institute.

This year's exhibition, Superfine Tailoring Black Style, inspired tonight's dress code

tailored for you, which is all about the sharp, the personal, and the bold.

Anna Wintour and tonight's co-chairs have just arrived and are about to officially open

the carpet in a way best suited for the occasion.

All the way down the carpet. There you go.

Adam Valentino. In the River of David.

No matter where you are, no matter how far, don't worry.

We'll be just call my name. I'll be there in a hurry.

We don't have to way. Cause baby, there ain't no mountain

high enough. Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough to keep me from getting to you babe.

I told you you could always count on me. Darling, won't that day on I made a

vow. I'll be there when you want.

Cause baby, there ain't no mountain high enough.

Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough.

To keep me from getting to you, babe.

So we're going.

That stop me, baby, baby.

Trouble just me.

Oh, baby, baby. My love is a way down in my

heart.

I'll be there on the double.

Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough.

Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough.

To keep me from getting to you. Baby.

Ain't no mountain high enough.

Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough.

To keep me from getting to you. Baby.

Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough to keep me from.

Ain't no mountain high enough. Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river wide enough to keep me from you.

Ain't no mountain high enough.

Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river. Party enough to keep me from getting

to you, babe.

Ain't no mountain high enough.

Ain't no valley low enough.

Ain't no river to keep me.

Now I have never seen a moment like that on this carpet.

That was a powerful way to kick off tonight's historic gala.

The silk and sound choir. They're going to be performing inside as the

guests arrive tonight. I'm LaLa Anthony, and I'll be talking to the

biggest names in the game as they make their way inside the met.

Ladies, how are you feeling down there? No, sir.

We're just out here waiting to get into these arrivals and their fits for the night.

Yeah, we definitely can't wait. So stop being modest.

I'm trying to get into your fit tonight. What's going on?

Come on. I'm going to get into yours.

I do what I can. Okay.

Do. One of tonight's co-chairs is at the top of

the steps right now. All right.

One of my faves is here. Shutting it down.

I saw you coming all the way up here. I was like, oh, no, no, this, this, this,

this is different. All right. First, you are a co-chair for tonight's

gala. Tell me, what does that feel like, especially

for a theme like this? Well, I'm honored to, you know, while having

the appointment over at Louis Vuitton.

You know, for Anna to ask me after my first show.

Right, was like, where it all started, you know, because I had, like, a very dandy

aspect to my show. And that was a part of, like, the show notes.

And so afterwards we had like a breakfast the next morning over at the Ritz, and that's

when she said, look, you know, I want you to host with me in 2025.

So we've been sitting on this for like two years.

And couldn't tell. Anyone, couldn't say anything.

Couldn't say anything. No. But we've been planning and you know, we're

finally here. And I just I'm grateful that she's given us

platform. And the theme is what it is.

It celebrates that incredible color. Black, you know, and the people and which is

an American story and and dandyism, which is, like I said, like, you know how you feel when

you wake up, where you're going and what the weather's going to be like, you know, and

having that keen and acute attention to detail, that's everything.

That's that's the sport of dandyism. So, Pharrell, when you think of like the

icons of our generation, who do you think embodies like, what a black dandy and

dandyism is like, what comes to your mind? The working class.

The working class. That's where I come from.

Because, you know, you work your off and then like, all week.

And then when it's time for Sunday's finest. You throw it on.

Yeah, you throw. You throw that.

Thing on, you put that stuff on. Yeah.

That's it. All right.

And tell me about your inspiration behind your look tonight.

Well, you know, the the.

The Bond Street, Savile Row textile inspiration of pinstripe, but just in

pearls, pinstripe. Pearls I love this.

You see it? You see the pearls?

Yeah. You see the pearls.

You see the pearls. Come on.

You need to find a game and stop playing with me.

You know, I always love. To see you, too.

I appreciate you, always appreciate you. Thank you.

All right, all right. This is.

See, now that's how you open up the Met Gala. Listen, I knew when I heard these men were on

deck to co-chair that they were going to show up suited and booted.

Listen, they understood the assignment and made it to the honor roll.

They sure did. You know, these men heard about this year's

theme and said, that's every Monday for me. So keep this, okay?

Our co-chairs will be greeting each and every guest as they head into the Great Hall.

Listen, I'm going to just go ahead and say it.

They are better than me. Because if I'm hosting a party for over 100

guests, if I'm hosting a party for over 100 guests, look, I'm shaking at most, I don't

know, six hands. That's it, cap at that.

After that, everybody else is getting a cute little nod.

Good, good, good to see. Thank you for coming out, baby.

I hear you, I hear you. Just six.

Just six, maybe seven. The Lord's number.

Well, let's get it back to Lala so she can shake some.

All right, all right, go ahead. Lala, you're back for the fourth time hosting

this year. So you know that tonight's dress code

tailored for you means custom, creative and deeply personal.

How did it inspire your look tonight? Well, I'm looking at both of you.

And you just both look absolutely stunning. But my look is off.

White archive by Virgil. And I was just so honored to wear a Virgil

design. Shout out to Shannon, his wife, for even

giving me permission to wear this archive piece.

And I feel great. I feel honored, and I want to hear about your

looks like how did it all come together? Because both of you, it's like a whole shut

down moment over there. Thank you.

So this is archive Christopher John Rogers. He put some pieces together for me, made this

custom piece. You see the button, I see you, I see you,

peplum. You see the signature polka dots, the nails,

the nails have the buttons on them. That's patina.

Patina did her thing on my nails. And then Miles Jeffreys did my hair.

It's giving art on the on the scalp. Art on the scalp.

I feel like I'm closer to dad. Like this.

Oh, okay. But, Teyana, come on, you got to speak to us

about this. Look, this is.

Come on. Oh, thank you very much.

So, yeah, I designed this with the legendary icon Ruth E. Carter.

That is a. Come on, come on, come on.

Cape. Yes, the shoes is Marc Jacobs, but the suit

is designed by me and Ruth E. Carter. All right.

You really. You really, really did your thing.

All right, let's go to Lala with someone who knows this carpet better than anyone else.

All right. Well, this iconic woman has been the co-chair

of the Met Gala since 1995. And here to tell us more is Dame Anna

Wintour, who also helped me with my look. And I'm so grateful.

I'm just look amazing. Thank you.

And what I actually what I'm wearing is also in tribute to Virgil because he designed a

collection for Vuitton when he when he was there, that was a cloud coat.

So I asked Pharrell to to reinterpret it in his own way.

So we're both wearing Virgil. I love that, I love that now.

What are you most inspired by when it comes to this year's historic exhibition

celebrating black men's fashion? Well, I've been very, very inspired by seeing

how much it means to the black community, and I think it's full of creativity.

It's putting a spotlight on amazing black talent.

I think it's about self-respect and joy and confidence.

Confidence and liberation. And at this moment in our political history,

I think it's incredibly important, very, very stand next to the black community, and I'm

sure that it will be very well attended. And I'm so looking forward to hearing what

our visitors have to say. Yes, we're so excited to be here.

And this year's exhibition is the first in 22 years to focus exclusively on menswear.

So how do you think men's fashion has changed most in the last two decades?

Well, I think it's completely changed. I think it's become so much more

imaginative and creative and risk taking and fearless and fun, and which is what

the exhibition is all about. So I think Andrew and Monica's brilliance in

seeing that and understanding that, but looking at it through the lens of black

menswear and black style and incredible black creative dandies like our friend Andre, I

mean, the whole thing has just come together in a way that is is magical.

Definitely magical. And we all know what you do every first

Monday in May. But what does the first Tuesday it may look

like for you? Just a blank.

Thank you for asking me. Foot massages.

I remember. That foot massages.

Yes, we got foot massages I love that. Well, we're honored to be here and thank you

for bringing this to life. Thank you so much.

All right. Have a wonderful time tonight.

All right. All right.

Since Vogue revealed the theme of this year's Met Gala, the internet's been asking, what is

a black dandy? Well, we asked a few familiar faces, and

here's what they had to say. What is black dandyism.

Gosh, it's a little hard to describe. Dandy.

I'm feeling quite dandy. I think Dandyism is about individuality.

Excellence. Freedom.

Wit, elegance. It is tailoring.

It's a frequency. Dandyism to me is really about expression.

Black expression. Dandyism means confidence to me.

Somebody that celebrates living in a one of a kind body and tailors everything to that

body. Dandyism can.

I say. The kind of dictionary definition of Dandyism

is somebody who studies, above all else to dress elegantly and fashionably.

When the dandy is black, we get to see the dandy as a figure that really encapsulates a

kind of matrix of identity race, gender, class, sexuality, and sometimes nation.

Okay, we are standing with one of the best dressed men on the planet and co-chair of

this year's Met Gala. Colman Domingo looking good.

Oh my dear sis. I mean, you ate this up.

Oh, no, you ate it up too. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Thank you. Well, listen, I know I had to represent

tonight, and I drew inspiration from many things from, you know, I wanted to take this

across the seas in many ways and really got inspiration from sort of the moors, like

Othello, the Moor and people who, you know, kings and things that then also color blue.

The blue was also a color that when we were doing our research with Monica, when she was

telling me that a freed slave wanted to wear his finest blue Superfine wool suit, and I

thought, the color blue is perfect for tonight.

And also I feel like it gives you choir. It gives you King, it gives you all those

moments. And it's a little nod to Andre Leon Talley as

well. There's a great photo of him, actually at the

Met Gala with the beautiful blue cape, as he always did.

You always know what to say. I'm picking up everything you are putting

down. I'm clocking all of it.

You look fantastic. You really do.

Yes. And so you're actually one of the covers of

the Vogue Met Gala issue this year. What are you most proud of when you look at

that picture? I'm proud of eight year old Coleman,

who was awkward and skinny and a nerd.

And but he had dreams. He believed he could be something else.

And it looks like a manifestation of not only my dreams, but many dreams of my family and

ancestors. I know I'm standing in a moment that's for

not only myself, but many men and many women as well.

Who? Who toiled, who, who made sure I had, you

know, what I had as working class people. I represent West Philly.

I represent queer culture. I represent, you know, many people.

So I'm very, very proud to stand in this space.

You are representing well. We cannot wait to see you in there.

You look fantastic. You are doing us all proud.

You look good with a T on that. A couple tees, a couple of tees.

Yes, we will see you in there. Be proud.

Yes. Thank you.

Coleman.

I'm really.

Camera. Yes.

Stay right there. What are you doing?

Chin up. Right in the middle.

In the middle.

To the right. There are those eyes, please.

Second round. We got you guys together.

Right up top. Family.

Can we get the two of you together? All right.

Hanging out with the incomparable Sydney Sweeney.

She's here with me right now. Your look is absolutely amazing.

So tell me when you hear a theme like this, what goes into bringing a look like this to

life? Well, this is my third time going with

muumuu, and I always feel that they just bring such beautiful stories to every dress.

So this is actually paying homage to Kim Novak.

And I'm doing a movie with Colman Domingo. I did.

Hear about that. So we wanted to really just bring that to

life. And I think it's just such a beautiful story.

I saw. Coleman at the.

bottom of the excited to talk to him. He looks absolutely.

He does. I'm so excited for him.

I told you I wasn't gonna keep you long so you can go in and start partying.

Thank you so much for stopping by. You look amazing.

Thank you. You too.

Like always. Thank you.

Heidi.

Heidi. Heidi.

Heidi.

I'd like to. The right.

Right front of you. Up top, looking up to the right.

Right in the middle. Here.

In the middle.

Heidi. Over the right shoulder.

Heidi. Heidi!

That's my right shoulder. Heidi.

Heidi, the front of Heidi. Make that big smile.

Take a step back.

Heidi. On the shoulder.

For.

The right. Zoe, don't get down!

Second row. Straight ahead of you.

Second row, straight ahead.

A little.

Heidi. Over the shoulder.

Heidi, up the stairs.

We're here with Coco Jones, who is looking. Bomb girl.

The suit. Thank you so much.

Giving diamonds. And eggnog.

Oh, yeah. We want to celebrate.

You like that. Thank you.

It was the designer, Manish Malhotra. He's amazing.

I'm really, really excited. It's my first met.

And I too love it. It's a whole fashion world.

I'm just happening to be here. Yeah, to be in it.

You go eat up your first minute like that. I'm gonna try to take a bite.

You know, I got, I got, I got some high caliber looks.

Period. Trying to be in the mix.

Right? You know?

Right. Time to make a statement.

So I'm really excited. I think it's doing a good job.

You did a great job. What are you most excited about today?

I'm really excited to just see all the looks. I feel like this is where like, fashion meets

intention and I love the mystery tonight. I love black culture and being able to

represent us in such a black excellence way. So I'm excited for I feel like this is going

to be historic, you know, for our culture. Yeah.

I mean, you did. You really did what you were supposed to do.

Thank you. You know, I just dropped my album, so I got I

got to step hard. The album. Yes.

I just dropped my album last Friday. It's my first ever album.

Why not? More is the title.

I'm going on tour. I go to my first show tomorrow.

Oh yes. On tour?

Yeah. I mean, this is the met, babe.

I had to, I had to be here happy to be happy to be here.

But yeah, the food was good tonight. But where's your first stop on tour?

My first stop is Philly. Yeah.

Tomorrow. Okay.

Come on. Yes.

I'm really excited. I'm like, hopefully this can be like, you

know, the party before the party, the tour party.

But yeah, I'm really excited to be here. Y'all look great too.

This is going to be an amazing night for black culture.

I just cannot believe this is real. This is a good way to start your tour.

Fantastic way to start the tour. Go see Coco on tour.

Yes. That album.

Oh yes. Get the album as well.

Please do. Thank you.

Thank you ladies, I need you to go and get on the carpet.

All right, I'm gonna go eat it up. I'm gonna go eat it up.

Lisa. Press the, like, a little bit.

Thank you guys. I will.

Oh.

Right here, right here.

Right here. Right.

There, right there. Let's stay in the center.

Oh my goodness, you got the planet Michael.

Oh.

I know you want to do that all the way up.

Here. Diana.

All the way around.

Seven.

Savannah. I need it.

Right straight ahead of you.

Show stopper.

Straight in the center. Here.

That's good.

Hey, let's go back. Diana.

What?

You.

Know Elmo? Let's over.

Diana.

Oh, there you go.

Right.

Right ahead. Right.

Hey!

Straight ahead.

Straight ahead. Oh!

Over the. Over.

Thanks. The chin up.

Right.

There.

Yes.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens in the building tonight.

Looking fantastic. Okay, I have a question.

What is more stressful getting ready for an Olympic event, a game or the Met Gala?

Tell me. Give us the.

T the Met Gala. Only because I trained for the Olympics for

my whole entire life. And this is just like a one day event.

But I got in yesterday. We did all the fittings and so it's just

stressful. Yeah, yeah.

And what would you say Dorothy. Definitely the met.

Okay. Just because I feel her energy.

So it's. Like cool as a cucumber all day.

You look like you're keeping it cool. We both can't be hot.

Strong. Yeah.

We gotta balance each other out, you know? Right.

Okay, so another question. Is this considered the.

Ultimate day night? Like just a date night? Hey, babe.

Going to the met, right? How does that feel?

I would definitely say that because it's really pretty.

Because that's what you want to do this date night.

A nice little fit on layered up. And it's just amazing.

And this is my first time coming. So it's just a great experience.

And tomorrow is our anniversary. Yes yes.

Yes yes. Y'all gonna have to shift the date up.

Listen. Yeah.

that was on the right. Yeah.

How is it gonna top this? Yeah.

Listen. Yeah.

It was, it was the night. Right?

See, I don't want to tell. you what to do.

You don't want to tell you what to do. On this iconic.

It's iconic. This iconic.

Yeah. You get a couple little cocktails tonight.

It is Cinco de Mayo. Tonight is the night.

What are you most excited about tonight? I think just being with my husband, because,

again, we're a little bit a long distance so we don't get to do events like this a lot of

the time. So it's been a fantastic week.

Anniversary is tomorrow. So that's our two.

Universities today. Yes, yes.

Yes today. Excited to be here.

Yes. Well you get to look absolutely amazing.

This couple is showing up and showing out the colors on the carpet.

You guys are going to look fantastic on that carpet tonight.

Carpet is blue so I have a good time out there.

I appreciate you thank you thank you. Thank you.

Good luck tonight. Thank you.

Congratulations on the anniversary.

On the right side there.

We need you to get back through. Looking back.

To.

Jenny, straight ahead of you. Chin up, chin up.

Jenny in the middle, middle, middle.

Over the shoulder.

Right shoulder. Over your right shoulder.

Jenny. Right shoulder.

Jenny. Jenny.

Jenny. Jenny. Jenny.

Chin up a little bit.

Jenny. Don't ask me why.

They're right there.

Jenny. Over your right shoulder.

Straight ahead.

Jenny.

Don't stress. It's okay.

Jenny.

Just turn around. Just rotate.

Looking straight up here.

That's me right here.

Diana. All right, so this is the moment of all

moments when I get to be here with my friend Evan.

Of course. But, Miss Ross, miss Diana Ross is here.

Did. Did you know you were just going to come and,

like, shut the whole carpet down? Like, was that the plan?

Because that's what just happened. No, there was not a plan.

Everything was really, really last moment. My son persuaded me because I'm actually on

tour. She said, mom, you've got to go.

You haven't been since 2003. Like, that is crazy.

It's been a long time. So tell me the inspiration behind your look.

Because it was iconic. My favorite look of the night.

Affair forever family gown. If if you ever had pictures of the inside of

the train, it has the names of all my children and my eight grandchildren.

So everybody's name is embroidered. Embroidered in that.

And and the hat, you know, like I had to be careful with the hat because my head was

pretty big. It was awesome.

You were so incredible. Tell me what it means to be here with your

mom.

Very excited. And she's. The.

Best thing of all time. She's the best thing.

She is the Met Ball. She.

You are the Met Ball. You are the moment.

Thank you for coming to say hi to me. I love you so, so much.

I'm so. Happy I'm in my.

My daughter Tracy. Yes, yes.

Of course. Love. Tracy persuaded me to come because it is a

very special moment. It is.

And we love you so much. Special.

Thank you. And we love you.

Have the best time inside. Thank you.

Thank you. Lala.

Bye. See you.

I'm glad you see that. Thank you.

Right in the center.

Of.

You.

Yeah.

All right. Here with Jennie from Blackpink.

You know, I was looking at you. I was like, no, this look is definitely one

of my faves so far. Like.

Yeah. No, no, I was looking at you coming up the

steps. I was like, okay, you're crushing it right

now. Tell me the inspiration behind this look.

Well, I'm wearing a costume. Chanel tailored black jumpsuit inside, and

then a very beautiful sculptural overskirt.

And everything was inspired by the 20s and 30s of the Coco Chanel runways.

And I just feel so good with the hat and everything shut down.

When you hear a theme like this, how do you interpret it and bring it to life?

Well, I do my best and do my research and actually it was wonderful working with the

Chanel team because coming from Coco Chanel's legacy and history.

Everything it it had everything to do with what we wanted to represent.

So and everyone's so excited that Blackpink is going on tour soon.

So everyone wants to know what can we expect?

Ooh. It's gonna be good.

Oh, it's it's Blackpink in your area. Back, back again.

And I can't be the one spoiling everything, but it's going to be good.

And I hope we all can't wait to meet our fans.

So it's. Going to be incredible.

We'll have the best night. You look absolutely gorgeous.

You look amazing. Thank you, thank you.

All right. Hey, stay in the center.

Make sure. Thank you.

Let's go, let's go. Get close to us.

Start. With Miss.

Anna. Right here.

Throw that up! Downstairs.

Downstairs.

All right, I'm here hanging out with the birthday girl.

Yay! I'm so happy.

Happy? When I saw you coming up, I was like, there's

my girl. All right, so.

3030. What?

What are we trying to do in our 30s? 30?

I think just, like, take on that lesson of day by day.

And, like, fix today. You don't have to fix tomorrow.

And also, just, like, say what you think when you think it, don't hold on to things.

I like that, okay? Say what you think when you think it I like

that. That's good.

That's a good 3030 advice for sure. Talk to me about your look tonight and the

theme and the inspiration. Yeah.

So tonight I'm wearing Mumu and I worked with my friend who's also an amazing stylist and

editor, Gabriella Karefa-johnson, and we. Oh, I.

Love her. Yeah, she's the best.

And we thought of she thought of so many ways that we could interpret this look.

And we really went with this one because it's a celebration of Zelda Wynn Valdes, who was a

fashion designer in the late 40s. And she had she was trained by her uncle and

his men's tailoring shop, then went on to open her own dressmaking store in Washington

Heights and. Washington Heights and out to Washington

Heights. Yeah, but she took her training from her, you

know, her tailoring background, and she brought that to the female form, which at the

time was, you know, different and new and kind of risky and went on to design some

really iconic pieces. And I think to celebrate her tonight is so

exciting in this space that maybe a lot of people would only leave for men or suiting.

And I think that she really took on the essence of black dandyism, which is to

mix these strong fashion, you know?

Like pillars and mix them together and in a way that you feel like you're really

expressing yourself individually. And yeah.

So I hope that this is a dress maybe she would have designed for me.

It has tailoring and Glamour and gorgeous. It's so thank you so much.

They did a beautiful job. Shout out to Mumu.

Well thank you so much. I hope you have the best time inside a a

little after birthday celebration. Of course.

See you inside. Cheers.

All right. Cheers.

All right.

Look at that.

Boy, straight ahead of you.

On display. Please.

Chin up.

Larry. Right in front of you.

Larry.

Zoe! Chin up ahead of you.

I can't straight ahead.

Over.

The right way.

Zoe. Floyd.

Over the shoulder.

Straight ahead. Hey, buddy.

Ahead of you, buddy.

Get up. Shake it up.

You.

Hey, buddy.

Good time.

Damn. Straight ahead.

Good.

Daniel. Straight ahead.

Ahead.

Come here.

Down here.

Hey!

Down! The.

There.

Hey!

Straight ahead.

Right there.

Shoulder.

I'm so sorry. He doesn't smile.

Right away. That smile looks.

Nice. Right here.

Right up top, sir. Right on top.

On the right way. Gabby.

Got it. Here.

Hold on.

And do it right.

Oh!

Oh my God. Good, good.

Yo, what's going on? I gotta tip my hat off.

Ha! It's like this is a real Harlem moment,

y'all. From Harlem to co-chair A$AP Rocky.

How you feel about tonight? Man, I feel amazing.

I mean. It's a dream come true.

Look at us right here. Look what we doing.

We came from. The same place.

Yeah. That's crazy.

This is beautiful. Tonight is so special.

Especially celebrating black excellence. Dandyism just happy to be here.

You know how that goes. Yes.

Oh. For real.

What was your inspiration behind the look tonight?

Well, I. Really wanted to give it a little bit of,

like, Harlem Nights, but all of this is literally designed by me.

So this is all all, you know, head to toe, period.

Okay, little detail. Boxers.

You got to get the boxers. Pizza pops.

Boxes. Pizza boxes.

Okay. Yeah.

Details in that umbrella. To all Christian songs.

Okay. Yeah.

Okay. Okay.

Okay. Okay.

Okay. Yeah.

Okay. Can we get the shoes one more time ASAP?

Can we get the shoes one more time? Then get the shoes.

Bam, bam. They got you that time.

They got you that time. Let's get the details in his umbrella,

though. Yeah. No, that's that's light.

We got that. Okay.

That's off. You know what I'm saying?

But we right here. Okay.

But your grandmother has a crush on Colman Domingo.

I don't know what that's about. I feel some type of way about that.

He stole. My. Whole grandmother.

Yeah, he's got granny's heart. Like she's.

She's in love with him. Really?

Told me she was like, look, that's my boy. I don't care if he's married.

I'm gonna take him from his husband. Grandma, I gotta have a life, too.

I gotta have fun, right? Right, right.

Are you going to try to get him to give her a shout out tonight?

I'm have to. Yeah, you got to fight.

No, I ain't gonna fight. You going to get all the extra brownie

points. You got to be selfie style, too. Yeah.

No professional. You gotta do.

Yeah, up. Yeah.

Grandma, look who I got here. Like, you gotta do that.

And then you might be able to snatch her back.

No, she really, really. going.

She a goner. After that, it's over, man.

There's just no turning back, okay, I understand.

Yeah, I get it, though, I get it. Thank you for stopping by, ladies.

Thanks for having me. All of the coaches.

Know that. You know that.

Love y'all. Thanks again.

Absolutely. All right.

Mindy.

Excuse me. Excuse us.

All right. I'm here with my favorite Benito, aka

Bad Bunny. I was telling you, we went viral last year.

You think we could do it again? Yeah.

No. This time.

Not this time. Please.

We were all over last time. All right, Benito, talk to me about your look

tonight. Well.

I'm wearing Prada.

We work on this. Look for a couple months.

My friend Toni con el equipo de Prada.

Este. Inspirada un en la cultura de Puerto Rico.

Como el sombrero. Puerto Rico en el mismo.

It's the same fabric. So we do something.

We did something special. I feel good.

I hope people think that I'm.

Looking good I don't know. You look great.

And I love that you're representing Puerto Rico.

I love that you just infused Puerto Rico into all this.

So, Benito, talk to me about this summer, because every group chat I'm in is just

talking about coming to Puerto Rico this summer for the concert.

Like, tell me, what can we expect? I'm coming in August.

Are you coming? Yeah. Oh.

SH. It's about to go down.

Tell me what we can expect. Well.

It's going to be like a huge party. It's going to be.

Sentimiento. Like, there's going to be a lot of feeling.

I got a lot of energy. We know, like, we're going to some.

We're going to put some people to available.

Pero también sentimiento. It's going to be a very special and

unique show. My world tour just got announced today.

And I want to let people know that the show, the Puerto Rico is totally

different. It's going to be 100% different and special.

So it's something that is not going to happen again ever.

And I love that you always just give back. Remember Puerto Rico in that way.

We're so excited for this summer. You made this.

I'm excited for summer fun for all of us. So thank you Benito.

Thanks always. Nice to see you.

I'll see you inside. Gracias, gracias, gracias.

I always say, shout out to Yabucoa and my family.

That's over there. Yeah. My mom is turning 55.

Yeah. Thank you.

Benito.

He said it's going to be critical. Did you get a peak?

Tyler Perry?

Come on down. Hey!

I want to.

Please. ASAP, ASAP.

What do you. Hey, hey!

Hey, baby face right. Here.

Cheap. The grill, the grills.

Okay. There is a whole lot of fangirling going on

right now. A whole lot of fans.

Now. Like, I mean, this is okay.

We're here with Tiana's ultimate number one. Number one.

And I love you myself, too. I'm stumbling over my words.

Anne Hathaway. Anne Hathaway.

You guys. Phenomenal.

Could you give us a twirl? Yes.

Come on. Twirl.

Come on. Twirl.

You've shown. Them your buttons? Yes.

The buttons. Buttons.

The buttons. Look at the foot.

Oh. The buttons, the button.

The button, You sound like. An adult.

You've done the Met Gala before, right? Plenty of times.

I have all over. I still.

Live, and that's okay. It happens to the best of us. Yeah.

And the. Gravity is on everyone.

Don't worry. I fell.

Good after gravity, challenge. That's fantastic.

You'll fall in style. Oh my God.

I meant to do that. What is the morning after look like for you

after the Met Gala? Usually you do. The.

School drop. Okay?

I mean, honestly. I'm kind of curious because it doesn't mean

that I will have slept, but I'm kind of, like, curious about what that's going.

To be like. But I don't know.

It is. It's quirky.

It's not pretty. You're going over like, hopefully you don't

have the fear. Yeah.

You have. To be afraid of.

I mean, this is just a phenomenal look. I love how clean.

It is. Fantastic.

Who are you wearing right now?

She is the queen. Of the white shirt.

I was so hoping when you asked me that he would put me in London.

They got me. You got your.

white shirt. So who's your inspiration for Manuel.

Inspiration behind the look? There was.

A honestly, it was really. And what we wanted.

Like what? Everybody, for respect.

Everybody from one person. And we wanted Andre.

To look down from heaven. And.

Screamed Glamour! Glamour.

And we just thought this was. Doing it.

He's doing it. He's happy.

Happy that he's happy. Well. He.

Loves you. He loves you.

Did you? Thank you.

So excited to see how you look on the carpet. Be careful.

What's going on. Because I don't have.

Because the gravity. Is on the gravity.

Gravity is. Just say if you fall, you make sure.

Make sure you, like, lay there for a. Little bit.

I can't do it again. No.

Do we just do it again. Like that?

Kind of lady? Stay here.

Stay in. It.

Exactly. Very intentional.

The most confident. But you're not going to fall tonight.

You're not going to fall tonight. Thank you for stopping by.

I'm so. Really. So happy.

Step to the right. Yes.

Hey hey hey.

Andrew.

Hello. You are.

You're looking great.

You're starting right.

Over the shoulder.

Straight ahead of you.

Ahead. Straight ahead, over the shoulder.

De shoulder. You're looking down.

Over the shoulder. To the right shoulder.

To the front. Okay, we are here with Lewis Hamilton, who is

just at the Grand Prix in Miami recently. But now you're here and you look fly as ever.

Yeah, yeah. Thank you so much.

Thank you. So, look, this is the 10th anniversary of

your first Met Gala. Now you're the co.

Like what emotions was flying through your body when you actually do such, like, be a

part of such a huge moment. Started this way guys.

I think. It's really an extension of the 2021 where I

bought a table here. And bought.

Black designers community created. an amazing.

Evening. And and then after that, speaking with Anna

and starting. To. What the met could go to and what it could

one day be. And we're in London.

And she told me the theme. And I was I was so, so excited.

And then she asked me to be the co-chair. And in that moment, for sure, I couldn't.

Believe I. Was like, right, I'm.

Are you gonna say no? Of course it's a yes.

I'm incredibly honored. And she's been amazing to work with.

I worked really, really closely with her on this.

And even though, like I'm in season and I've been away working on.

But to be out to be involved, she's included me on absolutely everything.

And I'm just honored to be amongst the other. Amazing.

Yeah. Yeah, you pulled up on us, but you're also

into fashion on the formula one track, right? That's the thing, you know, for right.

You always want to be fashion. How did fashion become such a big part of

your life? Well, when I was younger, I really felt like

I had to conform, particularly in the world that I compete in.

My father and I are the only people of color. So there was this real pressure to conform.

And as I got older, I realized that there was I found my kind of my sense of, of self got

confident from wearing fashion and how you can express yourself from what you're

wearing. And after that, I went on this journey.

And that's fashion has really helped me become the person I am today.

You're doing great. I'm really I'm just in awe of this look,

right now. I'm taking it all in.

Yeah. This is Grace Wales Bonner.

Oh, okay. Grace.

We've gone into great detail. We've got.

Obviously, Ivory is represents like.

Sorry. The shells represent currency.

Ivory represents purity. Grace is very, very much into spirituality.

And we really wanted to pay homage to the culture by, you know, particularly from our

culture of Africa, by the power of adornment.

The suit is so fly, I. Love it.

It is like, you better go ahead and say that. Yeah.

Because it is is the flower that blossoms the blooms.

Sorry, but it's really inspired by Harlem Renaissance and particularly Cab Calloway.

Harlem. Yeah.

You know, and the white on white. The white on white portraits by Barkley,

Hendricks. And yeah, this is like, it's just it's I'm so

excited to see how everyone dresses tonight. I've already seen some people in the carpet

now, so. Well, thank you for coming through and

stopping by because we know you got a busy day.

Of course, one of the. First Steps, the co-chair come on up in

there. Go do your job.

Hey. Go!

Great. Now.

Bring it back. Here we.

Usher.

Oh! Guys. Great.

I'm so. Happy to see Harry. Harry.

Harry! You guys are here together.

Harry. Harry!

Harry. Harry.

Harry. Harry.

Harry. Carey.

Carey. The front.

The front. Carey.

To your right, please. Carey.

Can you light?

Harry.

Straight ahead. Harry. Carey.

Hey! Oh!

The jacket, the jacket.

Okay. Hey.

Do that again.

Right here.

Over that shoulder.

Harry. Here.

Let me.

Show her.

Shoulder.

Shoulder.

Shoulder.

Michael.

One more.

Shoulder.

Dead center.

Oh.

It.

To the right.

Make it Daniel Lee. She is here.

Okay. I'm losing it right now.

Can you tell us what inspired this look tonight and how long it was in the works?

Look good, look good. It's been in the works for a.

Couple of months, and. I work closely with.

Pharrell. With Louis Vuitton.

And we were heavily inspired by Monica miller's book and her exhibit.

We studied a little bit on this character. Julia Soubise, which really stood out to me,

and I felt very inspired by him tonight. Well, you look good.

Can we get a 360? Because I want to see the shape of this

jacket. Yeah.

Come on now. Come on y'all.

Y'all see it? Yes!

Y'all see me on the cheek. I see the Louis V on the cheek.

It's giving. Yeah. Look.

Come on. This is your first minute.

You're already killing it. How is it feeling?

Thank you. I'm a.

Little nervous, but it feels really good. This is one of the biggest nights in fashion.

And for it to be so black. I'm present.

I'm here, I'm here. Yeah.

You're the third woman in the history of the Grammys to win best rap album.

Yeah, we just have to take a moment for that. That is incredible.

That's so incredible. How is fashion contributed to the way you

sort of upend expectations about what a rapper should look like?

I think it's contributed a lot, especially this year.

Me having the project that I have out heavily inspired by like 90s rap, and I felt inspired

by the theme of student of hip hop. And I feel like that's very dandy, very

inspired by tonight's theme. Yeah, absolutely.

So. Oh, I love Dooney.

I. Love you girl.

Oh my God. Yes.

And your mama made that happen. Jeannie.

Yeah. Good girl.

I'm not a regular mom. I'm a cool mom.

Thank you for that. Thank you.

Ladies, you look amazing. So, do you enjoy that blue carpet or let the

blue carpet enjoy you. Hello?

Yeah. Hi.

Is it.

Over your shoulder.

Over the shoulder.

Yeah.

Over here. Over the shoulder.

Super super super.

Over your shoulder.

This is the.

Outcome. We are here.

With Emma Chamberlain. How are you tonight?

I'm amazing. How are you? Good.

I'm feeling good. You both.

Look amazing. Thank you.

thank you. Yeah.

Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you, thank you. Okay.

This is your second look for tonight, right? This is my second look.

So I. Just. changed out of my first look because I'm

about to go around the corner and do. Interviews, okay?

We're all. Doing interviews I love it I love it.

We're working tonight. We're working tonight? Yes.

What's the inspiration behind this look like? Yes.

Well, I'm wearing courage. and eBay.

So the courage. Piece I.

went to the show like a year. Ago, fell in love with the latest collection.

I was like, I need to wear. Something like it.

The dream is coming true tonight. And then with eBay.

You know, I've been shopping. Vintage for years, and to me it's always been

kind of a dream to like, weird, like vintage. Shop for.

My look. And that's never really worked out.

And this year it did. And so that's.

That's the. inspo I love it.

Love that. Yeah. Yeah.

Right. And what are you.

Most excited. For this year?

There's so many. Things to be excited about.

I really think that. The looks are.

Going to be so dynamic. And and so.

You know, just. Bright and exciting.

And I'm really excited to get to talk about that.

I bet you both relate to that. It's like a theme like this.

There's just going. To be so much extravagance and beauty.

So there's just going to be endless stuff to talk about and yeah, yeah.

Okay, so this is my first Met Gala. Oh, congratulations.

Okay, so I need you to give her some advice. This is her first name.

Yes. Okay.

Been here a few times. This is her first year.

Okay? I mean.

You got it. You got to give her some advice.

You're going to be fine, okay? I honestly.

Think I've been telling her that. Yeah.

No, I really. Think my my greatest piece of advice is,

like, enjoy every second of it. Have fun.

Like, don't waste the evening being stressed and scared.

And listen, I already, like, wasted half my evening being stressed and scared.

But now I'm here and I'm loose and I'm like, you know what?

I'm just gonna enjoy it. And I just tell you to enjoy.

It, okay? Okay, I love that.

Enjoy every moment. That's great advice. Yes.

Margarita. Then Margarita.

And you should. Okay.

Yeah. I'm gonna get a margarita.

You must. Get Margarita.

Passionfruit. Margarita passionfruit?

No, but also two. The two is fine.

Tonight is fine. You're working tonight?

Not on the clock. Off the clock.

One on. The clock, one off the clock.

Lunch break. Okay.

All right. Great to see you, Emma.

Thank you so much. Great to see you both.

You both have a good time. We'll be with you.

We'll see you around the corner. Absolutely.

All right. Girl.

Let's go straight ahead, Henry, look it up.

Look it up.

Henry! Over here.

Jonathan. Jonathan.

Right here. Ashley.

Over the right shoulder. Ashley.

Ashley.

Pass me that smile.

Just your right. Ashley!

Ashley! Come here.

Ashley! And Ashley, Here with Sabrina

Carpenter. Who?

You just look amazing. I need to know all about this.

Look. This is Pharrell, and this is Louis Vuitton,

and I'm such a massive fan of Pharrell's and have been to the show, and I was just like,

if I could go this year with him, that would be my dream.

And it came true. And he was like, you're quite short, so no

pants for you. So here we are.

Here we are. And really high shoes.

Yeah, super high shoes. That's like a staple for me in my life.

Almost fell into you. It's okay.

It's okay. Living life on the edge tonight.

But yeah, I'm just so grateful to be here and see all the incredible creations.

Everyone. So far, I've just been.

Like, no, it's like once you think you saw it, you see something else?

No. It's so creative.

Yeah. So what are you looking forward to most

tonight? The performance.

And then also I've still this is my third met.

Never been to the bathroom once because I've never been able to use it in my outfit.

So tonight might be the night. We'll see if you can.

go to the bathroom. And I'm just going to let everybody know what

it looks like. I'm sure it's just a normal museum bathroom,

but I'm excited to find out. Well, I'm.

So excited you stopped by. I have the.

Best time. Thanks. You too.

You look amazing. Thank you.

You too. Bye.

Miley. Highly, Kylie.

On your right. On your right.

Kylie.

Kylie. Right in the center.

Here. In the center.

Right in the center in.

Kylie. At your place.

Kylie. Straight ahead.

I'm looking left.

Kylie.

Back! Over that shoulder.

My left shoulder.

Right shoulder, right shoulder. Ready?

Rihanna.

Here. With that girl.

Here. With my girl.

Ayo Edebiri. Are yo my girl.

My girls. Spreadable.

Hold on. Before we start anything.

Yes. Lift up the dress.

Oh, yeah. And we're.

Going to give. A little piece.

Give a little pee. Bit a.

Little human. Mule shoe cam.

Are we in the wide? That's okay.

I'm back. Please.

Yeah. Come on.

Okay. Yes, yes.

You look fabulous. I boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop

boop. Boop boop boop boop.

A little Spanish, a little boop boop. Okay.

Diaspora tonight. What was your inspiration for tonight's look?

It started. I just. Was.

Thinking about my connections to what Dandyism.

Means to me and. Some of.

The Dandiest men in my life are in my family.

And this is. inspired by my dad.

My grandfather. And then.

You know. Just like tailoring.

And the look was made by Max Davis at Ferragamo, who's like.

What we're talking about being black, being in the diaspora.

And like, what could our angle be? So yeah, we have we have this we have this

little, little tribute. He did didn't leave us anything.

I'm hungry. Not no, you two are not hungry.

Y'all eating? We're all greedy tonight.

We are all greedy. Nobody's being greedy.

Greedy? So.

Well, okay. What's more nerve racking being here at the

Met Gala, having to do the carpet or being at SNL?

Being here at the Met Gala. Having to do.

Okay. Fox, I say, I want to go, no, listen.

No. And I'm going to agree.

Yeah. It's like.

Different because I think, like with the. Show, it's like.

You can you understand the the groove a little bit.

You have at least when you're a host you have a week to kind of at least acclimate.

And here you're like time to acclimate. And then you blink and then you're like, I'm

up the stairs. Oh.

It's 4 a.m. okay. It's over.

Yeah. That's cool.

Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah. But still, still exciting.

Well, you make it look easy. You really.

You really do. You do.

You make like girl? Not from the two of you.

This is crazy. I need some details.

I need some details real quick. Real quick.

Oh. You got some, baby.

Marc Jacobs on. Beautiful.

Mark on. The feet.

On the feet. You can't.

Shoe. Can you?

Can't beg him for a shoe.

Full body. It's going to be a wide because you want you

making this get closer and closer. The margaritas.

You know what I want a margarita. No, you know what?

No. I'm gonna.

See y'all. Inside because you just acting up, and we

still got a whole nother hour left. Okay, girl, go kill it.

We love you. We love you.

Thank you. The way we're conscious of.

The glam. Yeah.

Hold on one second.

What more can I?

One more step. Stop there.

Let's burn that.

Left.

At the end. Right there.

Just a minute. Just a minute.

My girl Miley stopped by. Miley Cyrus is here.

I had to see you. Of course, of course.

All right, let's just get right to it. Let's talk about this.

Look. Elia.

Enhanced by Cartier. I love that, I love that.

So when you hear a theme like this, how do you go into interpreting and your inspiration

for it? Well, I just look forward to who I'm going to

see and who I'm going to sit with and see everyone's interpretation.

And that's what's really exciting for me, is that this year it's really celebrating

identity and uniqueness and kind of challenging what's expected of you and going

beyond and really just being, you know, kind of proud of yourself and how you show up.

And I think watching everybody, I think of these gowns as like armor.

It's a representation of power and strength. And that's how I feel about fashion.

So I love seeing everyone's way that they're showing up and presenting that power.

I love that. So once you get inside, Miley, what is it

that you look forward to the most? Because this is this part, but then the

inside part. Well, I love looking at, you know, all the

fashion and all the art, but most importantly, just catching up with friends

that I only get to see once a year. And it's not near enough.

But, you know, we catch up because so much happens in a year's time.

Absolutely. All right. Well, I'm not going to hold you much longer.

You're the best interview I've ever done. Thank you.

Have the best time. All right.

Okay. See you.

All. Right.

Today.

Thank you.

I can't wait.

To.

Hold on straight ahead. Stay right there.

And I.

Can we get a quick solo?

Guitar solo?

Hey.

Hand in hand. Hand, hand.

Wait wait wait wait wait. Hello?

Solo.

Jodie. Straight ahead.

Mr. Jeremy Allen White. Yes?

How are you feeling tonight? What inspired this look?

Tell us everything. I don't know, we went through a bunch of

reference photos. Over at Louis Vuitton and.

And. Yeah, we we landed on pinstripes pretty

early. We found these beautiful kind of

pearl buttons, and and. Yeah, this is just kind of.

like snugger and snugger look sharp. Taylor.

Taylor. Yes.

Tailored for you. That's right.

Yeah. That's right.

So outside of met. When do you.

Feel most fashionable? Most fashionable, I think like like when I'm

back home here in New York. Just like, like walking to the deli or like,

you know, like going to see friends on my bike out here and.

And at home. I don't know.

Yeah, yeah. You catch me, shouted you out on SNL, and.

I was there. You were there.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was there. But it was funny.

They gave me, like, a y'all invited me, and then they gave me a heads up, like, we're not

inviting you to make fun of you. It's all good.

But yes. Yeah.

We have to get you to host at some point. I want to come.

Okay? I want that to happen.

That would be pretty dope. Yeah.

Okay. And we'll do something together.

Please. Please.

Thank you. Thank you.

Absolutely. Have a good.

Time tonight, you guys. Thank you.

Likewise. Good.

Hey, job. Good job.

Good job.

Together.

Forever. John.

John.

John. John.

John.

John.

John.

All right. We are at the halfway point of the evening.

And inside the museum, things are fully kicking off.

Guests have said their hellos, gotten a first look at the exhibition, and they're now

headed to cocktail hour. Since, you know, I want a margarita.

But anyway, I got to ask you first. How did you make it up the steps in those

heels? You know, it's crazy how I can.

You see my little whiskey stick? Okay, you know, that wasn't just fashion.

That was. That was functional.

I mean, that was functional. Okay.

All right. It was.

It was functional. Yeah.

I'm not mad at that. You almost got into my loafers.

But you were nice and tall and everything. Just keep these heels on.

Even on my, you know, big toes knocking at the front door.

It's knocking. We're not going to answer.

Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna keep the toes in the shoes right now.

We're gonna switch to flats later. But you know how we get our cocktail?

The carpet. It's a marathon.

All this is a marathon. It's not a race.

So take your time, big toe. Settle down.

Enjoy the time. With vintage fashion.

The story goes. He a free man.

Legacy. Stitched and draped in vintage golden

threads. Beyond the Sunday sunrise.

Excellence running through our veins with intention.

Black hands and black minds. Gold teeth.

Black pride is my stride. This is a legacy.

Like the ones who came before. Paved the way.

Open doors, give them their flowers, nothing less.

Always more.

It's fashion's biggest night and we are live at the 2025 Met Gala, the annual fundraiser

for the Costume Institute. This year's exhibition, Superfine Tailoring

Black Style, opens to the public Saturday, May 10th.

And there's already been so much excitement that the met has extended the exhibition

until the end of October, so you have to check it out.

And don't forget to download the Vogue app, where you can join live chats with our

editors. Weigh in on the best dress of the night, and

keep up with everything happening in the world of vogue all in one place.

Let's go!

Oh my God.

Roger.

Looks.

Thank you so much. Right in the middle here.

In the center.

In the middle. Here we go.

That smile.

Selina.

Celebrate!

How you do it.

Over the shoulder. The right.

All right. I'm here with the style icon and someone I

call a friend. Tracee Ellis Ross is here.

You look beautiful. Thank you so much.

You know, working my pink again. All right, let's talk about the look. Okay?

Let's talk about it. Marc Jacobs.

I feel like it's animated. Joy and artistry.

The details kill me. Like, I don't know if you can see these

pants. And Stephen Jones.

I'm 52, so Stephen Jones is a hat designer that I have been obsessed with.

He made this for me and placed it on my head for me, and I had chills all over my body.

That is, you know, a couple bangles and just like, you know, it's just a little look,

Lala, it's just a little. Look, a.

little nothing. Little about this.

Yeah, there's nothing little about it. So, Tracy, tell me when you hear a theme like

this, what does that mean. To you? Well, it got me back out of the house and

back to the met. I'm coming outside.

Coming out. I, I just I feel like I'm naturally a

dandy. I don't live by anyone else's definition of

me. And that's what I love.

About you. Yeah.

And I just feel like this is a sense of sort of claiming and owning your own identity,

fashioning it by your own terms, and that's that's this.

And your mom is my brother. I had so much fun talking to them earlier.

Your mom, I mean, I know you saw her on the carpet.

I did not. I was in the lobby of my hotel trying to get

out. Well, I told her.

I said, was she planning to just shut the whole car?

Was that the plan? Because she just shut the whole carpet down.

I was like, was. That what I explained to people is my mother

stops time. Obviously it has stopped when you look at her

and when she shows up somewhere like this because she never comes out.

It's a it's a showstopper. And your name's in her in her gown.

It's so it's. So beautiful.

It's amazing. It's so beautiful.

I hope you have the best night. You know, I always love seeing you.

Always. Good to see you.

You look gorgeous. Thank you.

As usual. Thank you.

All right.

Marina, one more time.

And straight ahead, please.

Up straight. Number.

This way.

Victoria.

One more time.

Here. And together.

Straight ahead of you. Straight ahead.

Colin. With the pair of you together.

Holy, holy, holy, holy.

Holy.

Together. Here.

And together here.

Hey, guys.

Together. Let's show.

Lisa! Colin.

Yeah. Right there.

There. Stop there!

Stop!

Colin.

Okay. I feel like I'm in Thailand right now on

vacation. We're here with Aimee Lou Wood.

Patrick Schwarzenegger. How are you?

Too good. I'm terrified because it's my first met.

Yeah, but I'm so glad. Patrick to all three.

Oh, no, it's not my first time. I'm just terrified.

No, it's not his. Yeah, yeah.

Oh, jeez. Yeah.

Got a rookie. Rookie rookies.

Yeah. Feeling spaced out.

But also it is. Wow, though.

Yeah. The whole thing's wow.

Okay. Can you tell us what inspired each of your

looks, please, ladies. Fantastic.

Ladies first. Well, when I heard the theme, I just knew I

wanted it to be Ahluwalia. Who is Priya Ahluwalia, who I love so much.

And she's this amazing designer in London. And she kind of just led the way and

created this wonderful. I have to say, she did very well.

She did very well. You guys got to see.

Look at the socks. Look how cool this.

You don't have a shoe cam, but you see what's going on here.

It's pretty phenomenal. I made little pretty flowers.

I said I want matching ones after they're. Are they going to get.

Them for you? I hope so, yeah, I hope so.

Yeah. Olivier designed this from top to bottom,

which was amazing. From Beaumont.

It was great to go with him and just watch him do his magic.

I really didn't have much say. He just.

Did it. And I trusted him.

Yeah, and I mean, he's been a powerhouse designer for quite some time.

And yeah, I just put all the trust in him and he did a great job.

Yeah. Amazing.

He's crazy year for you. How do you feel the White Lotus

everyone was watching. Everyone was talking about I would like, kind

of dress up to watch each episode. My day off. No.

For real, Sunday is my. Day off.

I was. Like, okay, it's White Lotus night.

Yeah. I decided to order Thai food for the finale,

but so did everybody in Brooklyn, so it took two hours to come.

That's what I heard, I heard that, wow. But this is what I love about it.

Because of the weekly format, it feels like everyone comes together at the same time, and

it just makes you feel like part of this huge collective, which I love because I'm an

Aquarius. Yay!

Is it a big night? It is.

A huge. We all have to come together.

Biggest night, biggest. Night, and now I'm a bit bereft.

Oh yeah. It's like.

And I have. To say. I'm relieved you are alive.

Because, girl, because you know. Me too.

Jump! Somebody pull up!

Pull up the title. You know what?

Yeah, okay. But you know what?

I want y'all to go in that car, but have the greatest time tonight.

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Yeah. Thank you.

We're going together. Thank you so much.

We're good. As long as he's there, I'm fine.

I just look at him and follow. Yeah.

I'm not going to. It's attached to my hand, okay?

It's not going anywhere. Thank you guys.

Thank you. You both look incredible.

Thank you. So much.

Can you hold that left shoulder? There you go.

Let me get.

To the right.

Savion smile on.

Her.

Jose. All right.

I'm here with Cole Escola. Hello.

The look. Thank you for everything.

Thank you so much. All right, I need.

I need a full. Okay.

It's Christopher John Rogers, Love.

Darius. Jules.

And then just a sensible morning beat.

Just a little lip gloss. Everything else is natural.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well. I wanted to say congratulations on your two

Tony nominations. Thank you so much.

Thank you. And the people want to know what would Mary

Lincoln think about all your success?

Oh, she would be. She would hate it.

She would try to take me down as she should. And I hope she does.

And how would she act if she came to the mic? Oh, shoot.

She'd be eating the flowers. She'd be everywhere.

I'm sorry. Can you say on Vogue.com?

Okay, great. Thank you.

What are you looking forward to most tonight? The desert.

I'm looking forward to the desert. Last year, I was here.

No one at the table touched the desert. I'm trying to think of anyone touched the

desert at my table. Yeah, exactly. But.

So that means I got to eat it all. So this year, I'm going to beat Demi Moore to

all the deserts. I got it.

We'll have the best time tonight. Thank you so much.

Of course. Thank you.

Thank you. Absolutely.

Straight ahead. Right here.

Is. One more time.

Please. Regina.

Martina. Martina.

Regina. Regina.

Regina. Over the shoulder.

Right shoulder. Hold on.

And smile. This way.

Georgina. Right here.

Yeah.

Jeremy Pope, you look phenomenal. Okay.

As always, can you please explain to us how you put together this look tonight?

Yeah, well, first of all, it's an honor to be here with you all.

So blessed. This.

Look, I partnered with eBay this year. Me and my girlfriend Laura.

We put this piece together. We wanted.

To talk about structure. And shape because I think, you know, when you

talk about tailoring and dandyism, there is no fashion without the frame.

So this is our. Without the.

Dominican box. I say, give me no waste.

Like t you see what. I'm saying?

Like everyone wants the t waste. Oh, my.

Hey! Hold on.

Wait. So that's how we put it together.

It's all the. All the accessories.

Everything is off of eBay. And I just feel so special.

I feel so lifted and special. Like what?

Who has been an inspiration to you? You know what I.

I'm inspired by so many things. I've been living in Harlem.

Oh, you know, the streets, the the art. I think, you know, for me, it was about

paying homage to ancestors, people that have paved the way, the history and the lineage.

So I feel like even in the studying of figuring out what I wanted to wear tonight, I

learned so much about my past. And it's just I feel so honored.

I feel like I am representation of the pain and the suffering, but also the triumphs of

what our people have gone through. We've been stripped of so much so to be able

to put it on. Yeah, to put it on and feel good, you know

what I mean? So I just, I feel like I'm in my armor.

I'm in my truth. And that's really special.

And eBay really took care of us and made sure.

Check out the crown in the back. You feel me?

eBay. eBay.

Can y'all see Crown? Listen.

A ring. A song like our Crowns have been paid for

already. You feel me and adjust that crown? Yeah.

Look phenomenal. The best time tonight in Kirat Cartier.

Because I already know you are. And make sure you get on that carpet.

We're gonna be like this. We need.

To say T. Said give him way.

Give him. Yeah, I will, I will, I got you.

I'm gonna put side by side. That's what. We're gonna do.

All right, baby, good to see you. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Over the right shoulder. Bianca.

Good.

One more time. The.

Give me that smile. Shoulder.

Left shoulder. Over here.

All the way down. The left shoulder, baby, left shoulder.

Yeah, yeah. That smile.

Priyanka.

Welcome.

We got baby right there.

Straight ahead.

Right over here.

Okay. We're here with Megan Thee Stallion.

Hi. Hey, guys.

We're here. And Michael here we are here, babe.

You can't let us think we the same. Hello, mom.

I've been listening to the album I did with no melody so they wouldn't charge him.

Okay. Oh, that's why we can't do the melody.

He's on point constantly. Very witty.

First girl girl girl girl girl. Girl girl.

Girl girl. girl girl.

This look tonight. Because the service.

Yes she is. I mean, this is the ultimate, like, female

dandy. It's Josephine Baker.

It's a little Eartha Kitt. Eartha Kitt.

Little Eartha, little Josephine. And.

You know, I mean, you know, it's. Josephine.

Josephine Kitt. You know?

I don't. Know about.

The curse words. And you know what?

And it's also, listen, it's swagger. It's all about presenting yourself in, in the

most fabulous way at all times.

Does it? Right?

Absolutely. She always does it.

Swagger. Swagger.

No, I ain't. Want to say.

It. No, it's an a.

Oh, man. It's gonna be the.

One interview they're gonna. Have to bleep out.

The A makes it okay. But it's not for everybody.

But in terms right. Oh my.

God. Well listen listen listen because I need to

get her on that blue carpet. Yes. All right.

You guys look so amazing. Like a big one.

I'm here for it, Meg. See on that girl. The.

Things that God is giving the things. Y'all are beautiful.

I walked up and said. I'm gonna lay my people I know.

To make. My girls.

Girls. Girls.

Girls, y'all hurry. up and get this out so we can have fun.

Please go on the blue carpet. Can you bring me margaritas?

I got you in the car. Okay.

All right. Enjoy. Hey.

Bye, y'all. Bye.

Y'all.

Come over here.

Thank you. Right here.

Together.

Baby.

Yeah. Baby.

The beautiful smile.

Baby.

Left side.

Baby.

Baby. Straight ahead.

Standing here with Doja Cat and Mark Jacobs. Hello. Hey.

You really did okay. You were always saying something with your

outfits. What are you saying tonight,

gangster? I just wanted to feel like the madam.

And I feel like. He brought that, like, the strong shape to

the shoulders and all of the exaggerated shapes.

I feel like he's the master of. And I am so.

So, so, so happy for that. But yeah, it's it's been a really lovely time

working with everybody. It's super easy.

How do you usually. get inspired?

I mean, you always make a headline with you. When you step.

out with the fits. So like, what?

Gets you inspired? Yeah, I think just.

everything culture, music and whatever I'm watching and.

I feel. Like I've just been inspired mostly by the

80s a lot lately. And so this was kind of what I wanted to

incorporate. That's like, madam is calling the shots.

It really is remarkable. How did you what was what was happening in

your head when you put the pen to the pad? Okay.

It's always tough. That's tough.

It's like trying. To design.

A wedding. Dress. You know, it's the most important night of

your life. And I.

Think our. Goal is always to please who will dress.

And. Luckily, Jose was very, very clear.

We got really great information and mood boards, album, etc. and so we were like,

okay, so let's take the theme, the input that we got from her creatively and let's like mix

it through our filter and like send it back, see what she thinks.

She chose this and we went to town. Yeah it clicked. Yeah.

I'm not shocked by the outcome at all. Not not even a little bit.

And now you mentioned the new album. What can we expect?

Was I wrong to say. That album?

The album. We can.

Talk about it. Okay.

Sorry. Can you give us a little something that

people want to know? And we are the people.

I've already. Teased like four songs because.

I can't wait. I can't.

Wait, but. I've already had like two.

So with the campaign. That we're doing together, we put one of the

singles on, like behind the visual for it and it's called Jealous Type.

So if you watch that, it's in there. Okay.

All right. I'm excited.

Well, get Your coffee. Yes. Let's do it.

People need to see. You need to see.

And I will too. Yeah.

Yeah. Now you're doing well.

You're doing well. You look great.

You.

Got passion.

What's going on?

Yes. Adrian.

Rose. Adrian.

Adrian. Wright.

Adrian. Adrian.

Nice. Nice to.

Together. All right.

Here with. Nick and Priyanka.

Gorgeous couple shutting it down tonight. Talk to me about this theme.

And how do you interpret this theme and bring these iconic looks together.

You know, I was so excited to to get to work. Alongside Bianca.

Saunders. designer of this beautiful look.

Wow. She is just such a vision and has such a

clear. idea of what she's what she's doing, the

story. She's telling.

And you know, I've been a fan for a long time and obviously Priyanka tonight looking

amazing in Balmain. The.

Theme for us I think is just about collaborating with excellent people who have

a real sense of, you know, a 360 view of this, this theme and what it means.

And we're happy to be here. And this is obviously not either of you first

met, but. what do you. Still.

look forward to? Coming to the met every year.

I really look. forward to people's interpretation.

Of the themes. I think it's so interesting.

And this year's. Theme, I was so excited.

About just. Because of the excellence of it, the.

tailoring of it, the fact that, you know, to me it's an expression of what fashion has

been and there's such a power to it. So I was really excited to see and also to

meet old friends and colleagues who you don't end up meeting because everyone's lives are

busy. Crazy.

That I think is the best part. Like it's so good.

To see. Absolutely.

It's always great to see you. I hope you guys have the best night tonight.

You both look stunning. Thank you.

Of course, of course. Over the shoulders of Sophia, right in front

of you. Sophia.

Sophia. Right here.

On the side, guys.

There it is. Can we see the front on the side?

Here?

I think you please, Samir. Straight ahead.

And I got to meet. Sarah Snook.

And just like that. Straight ahead.

Down here.

Thank you so much.

As you walk me over the shoulder, looking back to your right.

Right shoulder to shoulder. All right, there you go.

We're here.

To feel them down all the way down. Sophia, on the left shoulder.

Left shoulder here.

Right here. Hands on your head.

Straight ahead of you. Right above them.

One more time. Straight ahead.

All right, so I am here with Miss Monica L. Miller, who is the guest curator of this

year's exhibition. You and I talked on zoom.

We did educated me so much about this year's theme.

So thank you for all of your help. Thank you.

With that, of course. So now this theme, this exhibition is

inspired by your book, started as your thesis.

It did. That's right.

Okay. So now, I mean, what does this feel like?

Like it was your PhD thesis and now it's the theme of the exhibition.

Like how does that feel? It feels extraordinary.

Surreal. And, you know, really fantastic.

I have to say, I never anticipated this when I wrote the book, never anticipated it when

the book was published, really didn't even imagine it when when I got the call.

But I'm I'm just delighted. It's hard.

It's hard to describe. I mean, delighted and curious and inspired.

So I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful.

Thank you. And the Superfine exhibition looks at how

black style could hold both pain and joy. And you talked about that to us.

So how did you approach curating a show that honors both pain and joy?

Right. One of the advisory board members for for the

exhibition said, we really, really need to make sure that we include the rhythm and the

blues. Right.

And I think the rhythm and the blues is actually how people, how black people

experience culture and history. Right? So it felt like it was really, really

necessary for us to be true to that. So, so in the exhibition, you know, we really

do have, you know, blues moments. But those blues moments are also in some ways

necessary to get to the to get to the rhythm. Right.

And it's also a little bit of a Saturday night and Sunday morning situation. Right.

So that we're, you know, we're celebrating Saturday night and then we're really in a

reverent place on Sunday. I'm so grateful to. You.

For just bringing all of this to us and to life and educating me and so many other

people on Superfine. I've never had such a big classroom.

I know. I was one of your your main students.

I know. Thank you so much.

You have an incredible time being celebrated tonight.

Thank you so much. All right.

Absolutely. Thank you.

Right in front of you.

Eyes right here, please. And the straight ahead of you.

Hold on.

Demonstrate the center here. Hold on in.

Here. We are here with Shahrukh Khan, who is the

first male Bollywood actor to attend the Met Gala.

Please tell us how it feels to make history tonight.

I don't know about history, but I'm extremely nervous and excited.

And Sabyasachi, who convinced me to come here.

I've not done too many red carpets and very shy.

For me it's the first time. But looking at you both, it's wonderful to be

here. Oh.

Thank you. And this is the designer tonight?

Yes, Sacha, you did a great a great job. Sabyasachi.

Yes. The carpet tonight is actually blue.

So does that make you any less nervous? No, I'm absolutely alright.

It's okay. All day.

Everything changes when you find out it's a blue carpet, right?

Got a blue carpet? Good. Yeah, I think so, I think so.

What are you most excited about tonight. Oh, for me, most exciting is I have little

kids who are very excited about med. I don't know if I would have come here on my

own, but when Serbia suggested that I should come, they went. Wow.

So I still don't know. Is it?

Wow, they call you wow. You do good on it.

Inspiration behind this look like tonight's look.

It's a nice look because I thought so bad that I only wear black and white.

But what he's designed for me is what I'm most comfortable with.

That's how I think it should be. So I'm really excited.

Yeah. I'm just.

Yeah. That's all.

And just to give you a little bit of context, Shah Rukh Khan is probably one of the most

famous men in the world, and his fan following is legendary.

And we nearly had a stampede outside the hotel when he came out.

And you know, when you get a man like this on the red carpet, especially when it's black

boundary, I think representation is the most important thing.

And we wanted to represent Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan and nobody else.

Okay, well, I think you did your thing, cherry.

You look fantastic. I hope your kids are proud.

You got to be proud of dad. Dad, dad did his thing.

Did his thing? Yeah, yeah.

That your daddy on the carpet? Yeah.

You got to go on the carpet and show the kids.

Listen. I'll be so cool on the carpet for my kids.

Yeah, daddy. I'm gonna rock it.

Yes! All right.

Dad, thank you so much. Thank you.

You're kind. Thank you.

Both of you. Thank you so much.

Thank you.

Hey.

There you go.

Turn it back down.

Hey!

Good.

Hey.

Go! Yeah! Go!

Hey!

And look at me.

One more time.

Over here!

Here we TV to your right.

Vogue.

Turn you on this side.

Thank you.

I can't. Turn. You on this side.

Please. Behind you.

The legendary. The icon.

The most dapper and dandy. Dapper of all time.

Dapper Dan. Don't make me.

It's so wonderful. Oh, my God, I've been talking about you all

night. Let me tell you something.

He's one of my biggest inspirations. Let's be all the way clear how important this

moment is. Not only for Harlem, but for the culture and

for dandyism in general. Like, how do we feel to be here tonight?

How does it feel? It's.

This is my third time here, and. This is the most important moment in my

career right now, because I get the opportunity place us.

Yes. You know, this is our.

You gala so much that I'm here tonight. Yes.

And I had to come here and represent culture. Yeah.

And you did. And you did well.

You did well. To bring something here tonight to take us

back. So I brought Sankofa here.

Come on, come on, come on. I brought so my theme tonight is Sankofa, and

my theme is like the Harlem, the true Harlem Danny era, which I take to the Harlem

Renaissance. Hey.

So I'm wearing a zoot suit that personifies the Harlem Renaissance.

And when the sincopa okay, you know the symbols which symbolize we need to go back,

which is what I did to get to where I am today.

So everything that I'm trying to say today is about how do we bring the culture up and how

do we go back and get what we need and bring it back in.

That's right. Thank you.

Did that. You did that.

Thank you. I've been doing it.

You one of the biggest inspirations. Like just flowers to you.

You know how much I love you. You know how much is this for Harlem?

Like, thank you so much. You. Fellow Harlemites.

We don't know. Yeah.

Come on, I know I'm here like. I'm used to passing torches, but she burned

my. Hand.

She burned. Me, but I can.

I can go home and go to bed now. Period.

I love to. I carpet, I love it.

Thank you so much. Yes.

I have the best time. Thank.

Hello. Over the right shoulder.

All the way.

My girl is here. Sha'Carri Richardson is here.

Shutting it down. All right, let's talk about the outfit.

Oh, my gosh, the outfit is one is Self. I am wearing Valentino, designed by Alice

Santos. And again, it continues to show, like I

continue to say, the era of life. I'm in myself.

Black rich era. That I.

Love that. See your nails?

It look so good with the camera. These nails are incredible.

All right, so when you heard this theme, how did you interpret it and just say like, this

is how I want to bring it to life? Oh my gosh.

I actually appreciate this question. When I heard the theme tailored for you all,

I felt honestly felt was expressing yourself being my unique self, showing.

That you've always been that. Thank you.

Showing exactly who I am through fashion, just like I do on the track.

So when I heard the theme, I was like, I'm just going to show up and flow like I

normally do. And so.

Always do and everything the hair, the nails, the fit.

Well, I'm so glad you came to say hi to me. You know, my son Cayenne loves you so much,

so shout out to Cayenne. I know he's watching, but thank you so much

My girl Jim. What's good man.

Y'all look good. You look good.

What's going on? What is this looks like let's let's get into

it. Let's get straight to it.

Oh. Enjoying it.

That's right. He's taking it in.

Come on, Sergio Hudson, come on. Sergio.

Yes. I just.

Felt like he always kills Taylor in pursuit, so I just wanted.

I love him. Know that he really did his thing.

And Usher, please tell us a little bit about this.

Oh well, Ralph Lauren, you know, I wanted to definitely keep it real classic, you know

what I'm saying? You know.

You know, dandyism. Is a matter of expression and, you know,

unveils, you know what I'm saying? It's a few other trinkets that are coming

throughout the night, you know, take the gloves off.

You're going to see the other. Hand.

Okay? The fact that you could do so much and tour

and still come and kill. You know, what they don't know is that I flew

in from Berlin. You know what I'm saying?

I'm going to London tomorrow. Yeah, as soon as it's over, as soon as we

wrap for the night, you guys get to enjoy the rest of New York City.

I got to go and rock out in London. And get a good plate tonight.

Yeah. Right on the ones and twos in the kitchen.

You know? So that's exciting.

We'll get some good food tonight. You ain't seen nothing in this year.

I ain't seen it. I'm looking for my chick.

I'm looking for that chick fil A bag. No, there's no chick.

Fil A chick fil A bag. Because we got Chef.

Gourmet Black Chef this year. So we're very, very excited about that.

So definitely looking forward to the plate. Usher I got to ask you is the is the cane

fashion or is it functional or is it a little bit of both.

It's a little bit of both okay. You know this I'm the year of the horse.

So I just kind of, you know, I think that, you know, kind of is like the final, you

know, accessories to the whole outfit. Yeah. It's.

All about the buttons. Yes.

You know the pins. Yes.

Cufflinks and your bracelets and. your watches and you know, kind.

Of. My cape was for function because my big toe

is knocking at the front door. Okay, well, tell tell the big toe to hold on.

Okay. Hold on.

You got flexibility, though. You can move.

I can't hold my cape. I'm gonna make it the same time.

So I had to choose the mic. I had to choose the mic.

Easy, though. Anything for Vogue?

Yes. Is it a bit difficult to move in it?

It is. I'm tied up in it.

It's definitely. Not moving.

Okay, well guess what? I need you to go in and move to them steps

because you're about to kill it. And make sure you take your time.

Olivier. Good good good good good.

We are good. Yeah.

You look amazing. Thank you.

Wow. Get into y'all.

We've been here. All night, but y'all just gonna walk and

eating up like this. I mean, Olivier, Olivier.

Is creation. I'm his mannequin.

That's what I am. That's what I am.

Yeah, yeah. I'm never going to.

Disappoint you. I love that.

So I. gotta ask, what was the inspiration behind

this one? He's the made to measure.

Like what suits for you. And I think I wanted to start from the

mannequin, which is the base of every suit happen.

So obviously like, otherwise iconic. She's a French.

She's someone that I love. She's a muse, she's inspiration.

So I wanted to go from the beginning of the creation, which is the mannequin.

But besides the mannequin, let's get into your look too, because come in a little bit

closer. You being too humble right now.

I need to, like, come on. This is the shirt.

The pocket square girl. I see that girl.

Detail the bag. The details are amazing.

Like, please let me say a little bit about it.

It's my well-being than period. Sure.

That's made of metal. My sewing machine that is made of metal as

well is like playing with different kind of fabric or different kind of material and

texture. I ate. This.

loving it. Rosalia, you just joined the season three

cast of euphoria. Congrats.

Yes. Thank you, thank you.

Yes. First time.

This is my first job. Okay, well, give us some tea.

What are you doing? Well.

I'm learning. Okay?

I'm figuring it out. I'm learning.

You know, I'm trying to not forget my lines. And be like that.

No, I be like that. But now you know.

And. But it's been really inspiring to just, like,

be. Beside the these amazing actors and

actors. It's great.

I'm learning. I'm the first my first time.

Yeah. Figuring it out.

It's gonna be with you. With you.

We got you. Yeah.

I'm trying to have fun with it. Trying to play around, improvise and trying.

Okay. Yeah.

Listen, we're going to be watching. We're going to be seated.

You guys, I want you to go and have a good time.

It's going to be great. Really great on this blue carpet because it's

color. It's going to look so good on the blue

carpet. That's the.

First time that I feel like a mannequin, too. I love that it's my duty to honor his talent,

you know what I'm saying? And I'm honoring her tonight.

Oh. Look at that.

We love that. We love each other.

Oh, God. You want.

A okay? We can.

We can do it. Guess what?

I need y'all to hug all the way up on blue steps because y'all about to kill it.

Yeah. Going to get up some steps now.

We're ready. Let's rock this carpet.

All right girl. See you later.

Got it. Adios.

I'm.

Oh, that smile.

Come on.

Oh.

Guys, we're here together.

No looking back. You guys together?

Over.

I am here with the icon herself, Miss Nicole Kidman.

I'm so glad you stopped. To chat.

So there. Are. the Vogue live streams.

Of course. You always come and talk to us.

Absolutely. There are so many different ways to interpret

this year's theme. So how did you bring it all to life?

Because I love your look. I just wanted something very.

tailor made for me. I spoke.

To Anna. And she.

Said, tailor made, remember? That is the theme tailor made for you.

And then this kind of was inspired in support of all of those gorgeous, gorgeous dandies,

the women that then honored them and supported them or protected them.

So I'm happy to be here as one of them. Of course.

And you've been to a few Mets, obviously. So you still.

Look forward to when you come to. The met.

I mean. It's just such it's lovely to just celebrate

fashion in this AD and couture and tailoring, and particularly tonight, the tailoring,

because there's all the people behind the scenes who do all that beautiful, all.

That beautiful work. And as with I mean, when you really look at

this theme, it dandy is all about where you take a black suit and put a beautiful

different button or something to where you where it's completely individual and made for

you. Absolutely.

Which I love. I love it too. Well.

Thank you. So thanks for having me and I look forward to

dancing tonight. Yes, it's going to be.

A fun night. I have some good musical guests.

Absolutely. Thanks for having me.

Thank you. Okay.

Bye.

Straight ahead. Like that.

Yeah. That.

Yeah.

Good, good good. No.

Yeah.

Hello?

Dancer. Right.

You made it all the way right?

Nice. Look at that.

Hair over the shoulder.

Yeah.

Right there.

No no, no. Right there.

Coming up the steps. Don't stop there.

Keep coming up. You've been blessed by the magnificent FKA

twigs. Just looking absolutely

phenomenal. Beautiful. You.

Could you please tell us about this look? Yes.

Well, this look was designed by Grace Wales Bonner.

who's an incredible British. Yeah.

Love. Yeah.

So we. have been spending a lot of time together in

Hackney for many years. It's so.

Beautiful because we've just. Grown up together.

So it feels like. A real.

Full circle moment. Yeah.

Took it together. What's your favorite.

Part of the look? Because everything is beautiful.

What's your personal favorite? Which part are you?

There's so many amazing details. I think.

It's the details. I feel that Grace and her team really.

Just took their time to get. Everything perfect.

Every crystal. Every feather.

Color. The way it flows.

I just I'm feeling really good. Good.

I want to shout out your nail artist too. Exactly.

Because the nails are. May shout out to May.

Do we have a nail cam? We need a shoe cam a nail cam.

Yay! Yeah!

Oh my God. My nails!

Hey, baby, I got a shout out. Bettina!

Bettina did my nails. Okay, I need to tell you something.

Which is that I had your matcha from matcha. Okay?

Several times. Okay.

Tell me about it. Did you like it?

So, Bob. Thank you.

A little bit of a matcha addict. And let me tell you.

Okay. Twigs.

Really? That recipe?

Yeah, that that matcha for matcha doing what it needed.

To do. She activated me for Saturday.

I survived on that. I love it.

So true. Yes.

Well, you look phenomenal tonight. Please.

Yes. Beautiful.

Thank you so much. Patina.

Did the buttons, the Christopher John Rogers buttons.

Yeah. Come on, May.

That's a shout out to May. Maybe we put the nails together.

Can we. Get the.

And who are you wearing? Oh, I'm wearing.

Me in the legendary Ruth E. Carter.

I'm wearing Christopher. John Rogers.

So his buttons here on the sleeve. And it's sort of a deconstruction of a

tuxedo. He's got the.

peplum and the polka dots we're really doing. He really did his thing with this.

Oh. You both look so beautiful.

Thank you. So, do you enjoy yourself tonight?

Thank you. Yes.

Fantastic.

To have one more.

Precious nine, precious.

Oh.

And right here. Right.

Right here.

Right here.

Mary J. Blige.

Stella McCartney. We're not allowed to sing.

And I just want to say. I just want to say.

Can you pick up what I'm putting down? Monday?

You went away. I'm not doing a melody.

You know what song that is? How many?

Seven days. Sing it, sing it.

We'll be doing in this dance tonight. On these, on these blue steps.

We just wearing clothes and. Like.

You know, we just. I mean, yeah, you know, that's the second.

The second time this is. What we're doing.

is we're rocking Stella McCartney. McCartney.

And, you know, McCarthy tonight. McCarthy.

We're doing for doing it, you know. Yeah, you are doing it for the culture.

We are. Doing it for the culture.

For real. Yeah.

And this is beautiful. I'm.

You have to be invited. This is like my fourth time being invited

here. I'm very grateful.

I'm just grateful. It's not a flex.

It's just a gratitude. It's a blessing to be always able to come

here. Because sometimes they invite you all the

time. So when you get invited, you did okay.

You know, and when people invite you, invite me.

I'm grateful because people don't invite me. Yeah.

Yeah, well, you earned your seat at the table because, I mean, you're a legend and invited

everybody. I did, but people don't.

Yeah. And that's.

But when people do, I'm very grateful. So thank thank you.

Know. Stella, relax.

It's you. And then when they.

Do, it's you, though. And when they do.

You eat. You show them why you should have been

invited the last time they didn't invite you. Then you came with the gold trim hat, like

three. Frames.

I take a page out of your book because. No, no, Tiana, you know you're the flyest.

No. I'm serious.

I'm serious. You body bag them every time.

Yeah. She said no, no.

much. That Mary doesn't know she's been invited

every year. But she declined. Yes.

If I invited, my publicist would have said, you're going.

We need to get to the bottom of this. We need.

The investigators because we're never going to have that issue again.

Not at all. We're never going to have a problem where

you're not invited. And then Stella McCarthy.

McCarthy. McCarthy.

Got to make. Sure that you.

Call her. Okay?

Yeah. You got to.

Make sure you. Call her and say.

Hey, calling her in the morning. Keep her seat.

Yeah, that's. Where I go.

She comes. McCarthy.

We're depending on you. You both.

Look, we're gonna. Have to.

Change my entire branding now. Stella McCullough.

Okay? We got out of London.

Okay? I was like, this would be very different.

Steven. Steven Jones.

Hey, Stephen Jones, we love the hat. The hat?

Yeah, it is different. It's fashion, you know.

Fashion. And it's fabulous.

Thank you. Okay, so please, the blue carpet is calling

your name. Yes.

And I feel like the people are going to coffee.

McCarthy. Seriously?

McCarthy McCarthy J. Blige.

That's McCarthy J. Blige. McCarthy here.

Where is she? McCarthy J Blige.

Here in this Dancerie. Listen, I just want to say I said it right.

You guys enjoy. You look fabulous.

Thank you so much. All right, guys, thank you.

All right.

Let's look it up.

Pick it up. Pick it up.

Straight ahead. Like that.

Straight ahead. Okay.

Right here.

All.

Right off the right shoulder.

Go, go! Get down!

Go, go go!

We need a ball.

Diana.

Right there.

Go straight. Straight ahead of you.

Nicole. Right here.

Chin up, chin up, right here.

Straight ahead of you. Straight.

Straight ahead.

Out of here.

Let's go, let's go. Rachel!

Shoulder. Rachel.

Rachel. All the way back. Rachel!

Rachel. Quinta.

Brunson. On.

Quincy. You look good.

Thank you. Girl.

Oh, Quincy got some money, I got money.

Oh, you got money. I love how much I'm getting to see.

I know, I know, we just did a week of SNL over here, and now we.

And y'all look good, too. Thank you so much.

Thank you. What are you most excited about tonight?

What am I most excited about? Well, I was no I was excited to see the

outfits. Like as soon as the both of you stepped on

the carpet, I was like, I love what we're doing here.

Tiana's just immediately you set the tone for the night.

And that was fantastic to see. I love the Christopher John Rogers.

I'm just, like, appreciating getting to have this moment to, like, show some love to black

culture. Yes, yes.

Yeah. This is special.

Yeah, it really is. Yeah. You're wearing I am wearing Sergio Hudson.

Come on. Sergio.

Sergio is a I've been killing it. He has.

Been killing it tonight. I think he told me he's doing something like

16 people. Oh, wow.

And this is just like an opportunity for him to really shine.

Oh. That's amazing.

Yeah. Inspiration behind this.

This was very. Josephine Baker inspired.

Yeah. I mean, from top to bottom.

The suit was kind of Sergio's idea. The suit jacket into the dress, but the hair

and makeup was 100% my girl, Josephine. And thank you, girl.

Pinstripe your way up the boots. Girl, you look good.

Thank you. Y'all look great.

And I hope you are. You're doing it.

I mean, this is you know, this ain't easy to do.

And you are doing. And I love y'all.

Look good. Thank you, I love y'all.

Love you too. Okay.

Have fun. Bye.

Guys.

See, Roger on the opposite side.

Of ladies all the way up.

Mary.

Mary.

Here we go.

Oh! Okay.

Good.

No. Law.

Roach. Yes.

Yes. Can you.

Believe the. Blond on blond?

The one. Wear it well. You look so good.

How did you decide what to wear tonight? Well, I'm here with.

Burberry, but. All my accessories were sourced on

eBay, so. I'm having.

This amazing. Cartier piece.

My brooches are Tiffany, and then, you know. I have to throw on a beautiful AP.

Diva is killing it. I was just about to say eBay.

eBay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, I think it's eBay is such a place to find treasures, right?

It could be something that you saw in the past that you.

You know, for me, it was like things I. Couldn't.

Afford, you know? And.

When I got that little money up, I went to eBay so I could find it.

But no, I just I am such a I am such an obsessive eBay shopper.

So you talked about that before we sit down with eBay.

Yeah. It's like, yeah, we had a whole little Kiki

about eBay. Yeah, yeah, we got some girl.

You got to. Are you most excited about tonight, though?

I'm excited to see a lot of black. People.

And I know I've. Seen you.

And, you know, I just feel like tonight's going to be like a family reunion.

And it's a lot of kinship. And, you know, seeing my friends and meeting

new people and, you know, and just, I don't know, just feel celebrated and celebrating

our culture and and the significance and what we've been able to bring to not only fashion

but pop culture in general. So I'm super excited.

I mean, how does it feel to be here? Because let's also be clear, you know, he

killed the whole Vogue spread like y'all. Let's be like f ING for real right now.

Like law has done a lot of work. So how does it feel to just be here?

Do you feel like you've exhaled yet? No, no.

No, I feel like I'm still living in a dream, you know, to have that opportunity to style

you. And I think it was 30 other, you know,

talents across all disciplines. And, you know, I was telling somebody about

the story the other day when when it was you, all the girls were getting their hair done.

It was just like being in a barbershop, a beauty shop on Saturday morning.

On Saturday morning. Listen, you know what I mean?

And it was just like. It was just.

It felt like a family reunion. And that's what I'm hoping to see tonight as

well. Yeah.

I mean, we're here, we're here. So even if it was just the two of us, the

three of us would have been. You already know we're gonna get in there,

cut out when you go on those blue stairs, and then you go into the met, you're going to see

everybody's here tonight. I'm waiting.

I'm waiting, I'm waiting. I'm waiting.

Yeah. Don't.

Don't sweat out the blond because the blond look good.

Listen, you still got to make it to the blue stairs.

So go in and get them blue stairs and don't touch it.

Make it to the stairs yet. No, no.

It's okay. Oh.

Excuse me, excuse me. Miranda.

Miranda priestly. Yes, ma'am. Okay.

So good. Y'all look good.

Come on. Get up on them steps and kill that blond.

Thank you. Thank you. Yeah.

Come on. Swoop.

Swoop! Oh. I.

Love it. Hi, there.

Hi.

Hey.

Straight ahead.

Straight ahead.

Right.

Yo. What's up?

I'm waiting. Sanjay Jose right.

Janelle Monáe.

Rosé. Straight ahead of you.

Jimmy.

Rosé.

Jose.

Right here.

Hey!

Sorry. Hi.

Sorry. How you doing?

But my girl is here. Keke Palmer girl.

As soon as I saw you, I just got happy. I'm like, okay, everything, everything.

Everything's better now. The look is incredible.

So tell me about it. Vera Wang, inspired by Dorothy Dandridge.

A little. Masculine with a feminine tribute.

Taking the gowns. You got the pants underneath?

Yes. You know, pretty.

Much just wanted. To inhabit the tailoring, but also the

history of black culture, fashion as a tool to enter spaces that often were not allowed.

So that's why I wanted to take the inspiration, Dorothy Dandridge, all the doors

that she'd opened for us with fashion and beauty.

So yeah, it looks incredible. You look absolutely incredible.

So after being to a couple Mets, what do you still look forward to on a night like

tonight? Everybody's interpretation of the theme, it's

always different. Everybody's going here, there and everywhere

in between. So I love seeing how people bring their

artistry. To it.

Right? Right.

So what's next for you? Because I feel like you're always working.

I'm like, I can never complain about working too much.

I just see you and I'm like, I just can't say anything about working, girl.

You know, Kiki, don't keep a job. Kiki.

Kiki, girl, keep a job. Keep a job, Palmer.

For real? So, what you got coming up?

I'm working on the burbs right now with Brian Grazer.

over at universal. So excited about that.

But then also, I have my album coming out June 20th.

I'm so excited. I'm excited about that.

Yes. And by the way, I didn't get a chance to say

because you were giving me life, but. You. Look stunning.

Thank you. You always do, inside and out.

Thank you. Love you so much.

So excited for the album. Can't wait for that. Thanks.

You go inside, have some fun. I'm gonna meet you somewhere in there.

So we have Kwame about to have me eating good tonight.

That's my boy. Shout out to chef.

Am I this. Way?

With the right shoulder. With the right shoulder.

You make it happen.

All the way down.

Right here. Smile.

Right here. Let's see your hands pick up. Chris.

Chris.

Chris! Chris!

Chris! Chris!

Hey!

Okay, rosé. So all of Blackpink is at the Met Gala

tonight. What does that feel like?

Oh, it's the best feeling. The last time I came, I was by myself.

So I'm really, really. excited to see the girls.

I was just with them in the. Studio in.

Korea, so it's nice to just just have family here.

I'm really excited. That's so much fun to have people you can

hang out with and chill with. And I think it's.

Really important. It is important.

It is important. Talk to me about your look tonight.

So I'm wearing Anthony Vaccarello. I love Anthony.

Yeah. He's amazing.

And of course we're wearing a tailor made tuxedo.

One of the most iconic pieces in the wardrobe.

And so I was really excited because he specifically made this tuxedo fit for this

look. And he assigned me with red heels I want.

I love. The whole world to see that I love it.

Yeah. So I've been trying to ask you guys to give

us a little bit of info about the upcoming tour.

Like, can you tell us, like a little something?

Oh my gosh. Well, we've got new music coming out.

And so I feel like that's going to be a whole different approach to how we storytell this

next tour. And yeah, well.

Everyone is super excited. That's what I've been hearing about all day

long. Everyone is so.

Excited. Love it's going to. Be great.

Well, thank you for stopping by. Have the best time tonight.

It was so nice to. See you.

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Straight ahead, straight ahead.

Over.

Here. As.

Hailey.

Aquino.

Hailey. Hailey.

Shakira.

Straight ahead. Hailey.

Hang on, hang on. Zero.

Thomas Khoury. Come back.

Here. Right here, right here.

That smile right here. And.

That. Right here.

Right here. Hey, how you doing?

Hey.

Happy. Happy.

Hey! Wait, wait.

In.

With a smile.

Hey, hey.

Let's go. Let's show them.

Yes!

Please stop. What are you.

You see? You.

Andre here with the icon himself, Stevie Wonder and his gorgeous family.

Thank you so much for stopping by to talk to me.

I appreciate that so much. Tonight's theme is so important.

Superfine celebrating black men's fashion. Black culture.

Black fashion. What does this theme mean to you?

To me, it means it is a wonderful thing that is being celebrated

tonight. I appreciate that, but the reality is I

believe that God has celebrated what we have done since the beginning of time.

Because this is why, since we were created, we've created style.

Whether it be in music, whether it be in. Dance.

Whether it. Be it.

The most important thing, love.

And I just. Say we have to commit ourselves.

Yes. Black men all over the world.

Black people all over the world, Africa, everywhere.

Pull yourselves and bring us together so that we can bring the world together with what is

needed. Most of all in life today.

Love, not confusion, not hate, love.

And that's why I'm here. I love that so powerful.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you guys have an incredible night and

you. Guys. Just look incredible and amazing.

Have so much fun tonight. La la la la la la.

Over that shoulder.

Way better.

Straight ahead. Beautiful.

Way. Thank you.

Chapel. Chapel. Chapel.

Chapel. Chapel.

Cannot see the front. Look out!

You're in the way. See the front.

Thank you. Chapel all the way.

This way. In the middle.

Chapel. In the middle chapel.

Chapel in the middle.

Chapel. Chapel in the middle.

Chapel in the middle. Come over the shoulder.

One more time. In a little.

One more big smile. Chapel.

Well, ladies, this has been a perfectly tailored evening.

The looks, the energy, the vibe. It just really felt like family tonight.

And I want to shout out my gorgeous co-host who absolutely killed it tonight.

Lala from Met Gala Pro like yourself. That just means the world to us.

This was unreal. I'm levitating.

I love seeing us in the building tonight. That's right.

I'm going to say it. This might not.

This might. This is the swaggiest Met Gala in history,

period. I said it in the report.

Yep. Absolutely is.

And we're going to keep making history. Usually the cameras stop here at the top of

the steps, but not tonight because we're giving you a sneak peek inside the great

Hall. And that means it's a wrap for us over here

on the carpet. I'm LaLa Anthony.

Thank you so much for tuning in. Yes, I'm ego.

I appreciate you all watching. And I am Teyana Taylor for you.

Good night. Good night.

Yes. Good night, good night.
